Alison Insley, Core Services Officer, Warwickshire Direct & Libraries Team

I work full time for Warwickshire Library & Information Service dealing with performance and customer engagement (not front-line). I’m also a Retained Firefighter for Warwickshire, a Squash Coach and a Ride Leader fro British Cycling…so I have very little time to sit down and read!

I applied to be a World Book Night Giver as most of the people (not at work) that I cross paths with, i.e. Firefighters, Squash Students and Gym Buddies don’t read, so thought it would be an opportunity to give a book away and to encourage them to read.

I think as we (I) get older it is important to have other interests not just the physical ones…so reading would be a good way to wind down, relax and learn new things.

The book I have been allocated it Reasons to Stay Alive, by Matt Haig.
