Empathy and family learning
Family learning is a term used to describe activities where different generations of a family help and encourage each other to learn something new.
Empathy helps us to understand each other and promotes strong relationships. Various activities can help build empathy skills, and these can also be excellent family learning opportunities, if there are learning objectives for both adults and children.
The Society of Chief Librarians and Empathy Lab have commissioned Common Vision to create a guide for library staff who would like to design and deliver empathy-building activities for families in libraries. There is also a video you can use to promote empathy activities on social media and to use within sessions. Download the guide and video here: http://eepurl.com/dbKW8X
